This was mentioned here in the FFXI forums, but it affects all of the ClanAM sites.

Basically, we are getting periodic MySQL wedges on the backend to these ClanAM sites. These aren't cases where MySQL is crashing (that would be easily monitored and remedied), this care cases where MySQL "wedges", e.g., it still is running but stops responding to requests.

I suspect it is a resource issue, but I really can't do much about it until we actually switch to some more powerful set up.

I would like any suggestions the other admins may have to make this less horrible, however.
